Stress can be very hard to overcome. Everybody has different ways they overcome their stress, these ways of ever coming stress are called coping mechanisms. There are both positive and negative coping mechanisms, negative coping mechanisms effect your life in a bad way and positive coping mechanisms do the opposite.

-talking to animals

A positive coping mechanism can be anything that takes you mind off your stress that doesn't effect your life in a negative way.
